TRADITIONAL CHILDREN GAMES

During the two-year-period of our project process, we made several activities and shared several moments together not only for working but also for having fun.

One of the most enjoyable activity we shared with our partners have been the activity we called "Traditional Children Games".

We aimed to revive oblivioned children games in this activity. We taught our traditional games to each other in mobilities and played together.

We enjoyed too much. We hope you enjoy also.

Traditional Italian games played in mobility to Turkey;

During the mobility to CEIP Utiaca (Spain) our partners developed traditional games from Estonia, Turkey and France.

Below is the Estonian game "The Master" at Utiaca


Here is the introduction  and words of the game:
“How to play A Master Takes A Wife
Players march clockwise in a circle holding hands and singing ’’A master takes a wife ... ’’         A boy (MASTER) is in the middle of the circle and marches in the opposite direction. He chooses a girl to be his WIFE and now they march together holding hands. While the second verse is being sung, the wife takes one player to be their CHILD. In the third verse the child chooses a NURSE, in the fourth the nurse chooses a MAID and in the fifth the maid chooses a HELPER. In the last verse the helper remains in the middle while the master, wife, child , nurse, and maid find a place in the circle of players. The helper becomes a new MASTER and the game starts again.”

Turkish game "Tombik" in Utiaca;



Rules and explanation of Tombik is like this;
"Tombik
 9 tiles, one ball and 2 teams needed.
 One of the teams is in  the middle. The other team try to hit the members of the team in the middle one by one by the help of ball. The team in the middle tries tol ine up the tiles over and over beside trying not to be hit. If the the team in the middle manages tol ine up the tiles before its last player is hit, it gets one point."


French game "La Thèque" at Utiaca;


The instruments for  "thèque" is a tenis racket and tenis balls.

Final Meeting of "Piece of a Whole" in Turkey

POW Team came together in Düzce, Turkey for the last mobility of Project, in 25-29 May, 2015.

In this meeting partners could observe Turkish education system and Turkish culture. We also watched presentations of samples from Project activities and theatre shows that were prepared and applied during two-year-period. At the end we learnt and shared each others’ touristic and cultural traits by the help of booths presented at Culture and Tourism Night in Turkish school.

33 participants (3 adults and 7 students from Estonia, 3 adults and 7 students from France, 5 adults from Poland, 3 adults from Slovakia, 4 adults from Italy and 1 adult from Spain ) of POW team have been to Turkey for final meeting.

25 May, Monday
POW team visited the Governer and Mayor of Düzce. In these visits participants could shared about educational applications in their countries. They also expressed their positive emotions about Turkish culture and hospitality.



In the afternoon participants had a visit to course of marbling art at Center of Handicrafts. Here students could create their own marbling art Works by the help of course teacher.



After the course of marbling art, contact persons of the Project had a meeting about evaluation and final report of the Project. We discussed about the project activities applied in two-year-period, their benefits and deficits. We decided to create some more web 2.0 tools to present project outcomes in digital educational platforms.

26 May, Tuesday,

POW team had a visit to Herbarium of Duzce University. Here, Assoc Prof. Dr. Necmi Aksoy gave a lecture about bigological diversity of Turkey to the participant students and teachers. Collection of historical books about fossils, types of fruits and plants was introduced to guests. University teachers also gave information to the participants about how to dry and keep plants in herbarium.











Later, guests visited Konuralp Museum, Fakıllı Cave and Genoese Castle in Akçakoca.






27 May, Wednesday

POW Team made observations at lessons like English, Turkish, Science and Technology, exhibitions and presentations at Turkish school. Partcipant students had made a fossil activity in Science and Technology class and they visitied school plant museum.  Participants learnt about Turkish educational system and Turkish students presented their project outcomes to the guests. They visited departments of school to the accompaniment of Turkish students. 





During their observations participants could see the outputs of "Me&My New Friends" activity on school wallboards as well.




POW Team also played Spanish and Italian traditional games at school sport hall.

As a surprise show, Turkish students performed a playback show of Grease Musical to the guests, also.




In the afternoon POW Team visit a Kindergarten (Şükran Öney Anaokulu) and observed the educational applications.  Later they visited Güneş Rehabilitation Center and the director of school answered the questions of participants about special educational applications in Turkey. He gave informations about identification and educational process in special education. 





At night participants were back to school for Culture And Tourism Night. Partners prepared their booths on which they introduced their touristical and cultural products.







Culture And Tourism Night program started with the featured address of  project participant students  saying ; “We have started this journey only two years ago from different ways. At this point, before you know it, we have become PIECES OF A WHOLE.”

Guests, participants, students, teachers and families watched presentations of Project activities and mobilities together.

Later the folk tale “ Pinocchio”  of Italian Team and  “Karagöz-Hacıvat” of Turkish team were watched by the audience.

At the end Turkish team presented samples of Turkish folk dances of seven region of Turkey.









28 May, Thursday

POW Team had excursions with a guided boat tour in İstanbul and could see the historical places like Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar.

29 May, Friday

 We had to say good bye to the participants of Piece of a Whole with a sad farewell and with good wishes and with hope to meet in the future.
